Laura Plummer, LCSW

Hello, I’m Laura Plummer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s in Social Work. At Anwari Counseling, I provide compassionate therapy for teens (12+) and adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.

I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including survivors of domestic violence. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients can explore difficult emotions and process some of life’s most challenging experiences.

My therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and evidence-based counseling techniques to help clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop greater inner peace and confidence. I utilize methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, and holistic counseling that supports mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual healing.

I believe in empowering clients to better understand themselves, build resilience, and develop secure relationships. Through therapy, clients can gain practical tools, deepen self-awareness, and move toward lasting healing and growth.

In addition to my clinical work, I have participated in international mission work, which has given me a deeper understanding of cultural transitions and culture shock. I also enjoy incorporating creative expression into therapy when appropriate, including art-based activities that can help clients process emotions in new ways.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy crafting stained glass, bracelet making, and scrapbooking. I also share my home with a cat who occasionally likes to appear during telehealth sessions.

If you are looking for supportive, trauma-informed counseling to help you process difficult experiences and move toward healing, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
